Heroin Abuse and Effects

Heroin abuse and effects need to be taken more seriously than they are; not only by youngsters, but adults too. Heroin is highly addictive, whether you try it only once or a couple of times, that first try can be the start of a ruined life, and it will end that way. The drug immediately works on your nervous system; because heroin is shot straight into the blood stream, it works quicker than any other drug. Some of the short term effects may include dry mouth, vomiting or just nausea, itching, hot flushes and more.

The most disturbing long term effect there is when it comes to heroin abuse and effects is addiction itself. Once someone is a heroin addict, they will think of not much else; they will live for the drug, they will steal from the poor and beg from the rich if they have to, and it might not take long to reach that point with this highly addictive drug. With long term heroin use, the nervous system may be so destroyed that withdrawl symptoms may begin just hours after the last hit. Withdrawl symptoms can be anything from abuse and violence to agitation, stress and panic.

The short term effects are just as bad as the long term, and neither of them are anything you want to ever experience if you haven’t already. People of all ages are using the drug, and this is unbelievable. There are absolutely no good points of heroin, it kills you, sometimes slowly and painfully and sometimes quickly and unpleasantly. Heroin is mostly taken by injecting a needle into the main vain at the crease of the inner forearm/start of your arm up to your shoulder. Any obvious “needle pricks”, bruising, etc may be a sign of someone using, even with the warning of heroin abuse and effects all around them.
